Executive Director

Jennifer Patrick, MBA

Executive Director of Canisius CPD

Jennifer Patrick is a 2000 MBA graduate of Canisius College. She brings 25 years of management experience to her new role as Executive Director of Canisius’ Center for Professional Development. In addition to work in both public and private sectors in both the US and Canada, she is a seasoned management consultant with experience in both post-secondary education and curriculum development. Jennifer has taught at the Brock University School of Business and teaches sessionally at the University of Toronto in the School of Engineering’s Centre for the Management of Technology and Entrepreneurship.


Daniel J. Borgia, Ph.D

Daniel J. Borgia, Ph.D

Dean & Professor of Finance Richard J. Wehle School of Business

Dr. Daniel Borgia is the Dean and a Professor of Finance at the Richard J. Wehle School of Business at Canisius college. Prior to his appointment at Canisius, Dr. Borgia was Associate Dean and Professor of Finance in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Idaho from 2013 to 2016. Between 2010 and 2013, Dr. Borgia was Associate Dean at Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) China. From 1997 to 2010, Dr. Borgia was a founding faculty member and Professor of Finance at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) and was the 2002 - 2003 China Fulbright Scholar at Nanjing University in Nanjing, China. Dr. Borgia was a Professor and founding Director of the FGCU Institute of Chinese Studies, a founding Director of the Southwest Florida Chinese Language School, a former Vice President for the Southwest Florida Chinese Association, and a former Vice President for the Speaker’s Assembly of Southwest Florida. Dr. Borgia received a B.S. in Business Management from Cornell University in 1981, an MBA from Gannon University in 1986, and a Ph.D. in Finance from Kent State University in 1991. Dr. Borgia has a broad publication record, writing on topics that include international business and finance with particular reference to China, working capital financing, entrepreneurial finance, and financial education. His current research interests are centered on topics related to Chinese business and finance and on the development of the Chinese economy and financial system.

Colleen A. Kowtun, MBA

Colleen A. Kowtun, MBA

Manager of Sales Operations

Colleen has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Medaille College as well as a Bachelor’s of Science from Alfred University. Before coming to Canisius, Colleen has had various roles in marketing, sales support, and management within manufacturing, market research and retail companies. Within each position she has held, she was responsible for onboarding and training other employees. This makes her aware of the challenges clients have when training their employees. She brings significant data analysis, marketing communications, and customer relationship management (CRM) experience to our team. Colleen is responsible for leading the operational functions for implementing and administrating the delivery of each program we offer at Canisius CPD.

Christina Yensan, MA.ed

Christina Yensan, MA.ed

Client Specialist

Christina has a Master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from SUNY Brockport, and also an Associate’s Degree in Travel and Tourism from Herkimer Community College. Before coming to Canisius, Christina worked at two other colleges where she was responsible for counseling, instructing, and encouraging student’s success in college and in the workplace. Prior to her career in education, Christina was a travel executive. In this role, she led a management team, prepared budgets, and coordinated marketing initiatives. During this time, she was responsible for achieving record sales while drastically decreasing turnover. She brings substantial academic, sales, and customer service experience to our team. Christina is responsible for coordinating special events, and instrumental in the daily operations of the Center for Professional Development.

Our History

Canisius College is the premier private university in Western New York, one of 28 Jesuit, Catholic colleges in the nation, and is consistently ranked among the top regional colleges in the Northeast. Founded in 1870 by German Jesuits, Canisius College is named for St. Peter Canisius, a renowned Dutch educator and one of the original members of the Society of Jesus. What began in a single building in downtown Buffalo now consists of 56 buildings located on 72 acres in a residential neighborhood in North-Central Buffalo.

Canisius is an independent, co-education, medium size institution of higher education offering undergraduate and graduate programs leading to Associate, Baccalaureate and Masters Degrees.
