DESCRIPTION

Business decisions are often driven by experience or opinion, without consideration of the underlying data that organizations have available to them. When the appropriate analysis is performed, historical data often uncovers important trends and opportunities for organizations that can play a crucial role in day-to-day or strategic decisions.

Trends often go undetected when organizations are not aware that the data exists and that there are proven analytical tools to detect issues and opportunities. Add in the use of computers and the misconception that you always need “big data” and sophisticated software for business analytics, many organizations will continue to base decisions on opinion or “business as usual.”

This course will help you identify situations in your organization where data will provide better informed decisions with higher confidence, based on actual results. You will be introduced to analytical tools typically used in quality analysis and understand their importance, apply the tool and concepts, both with and without computing software. You will learn what to consider, when it is appropriate to apply analytics, and the key data sources your organization may already have available.
