XaVIer & Canisius Partnership

Canisius College and Xavier University have partnered to offer professional development programming in Western New York, it was announced today by Canisius President John J. Hurley. The Canisius Center for Professional Development (CPD) and Xavier’s Leadership Center (XLC) will join to offer several new programs beginning in May 2015.

“The Canisius Center for Professional Development has been dedicated to the training and development of the Western New York business community for more than three decades,” says Hurley. “We are happy to partner with Xavier, a fellow Jesuit University, which will allow us to offer additional, cutting-edge professional programs through our CPD.”

In 2014, XLC launched the Executive Education Jump Start Network, collaborating with other colleges and universities to rapidly expand their current offerings by including Xavier’s nationally-recognized executive education and certificate programs.

“We are thrilled that Canisius has joined our Executive Education Jump Start Network,” says Bruce Miller, director of the Xavier Leadership Center. “We are also exploring Canisius programming that Xavier can in turn offer to our clients.”

Programs to be offered in partnership with Xavier as part of Today’s Health Care Leader Series include Servant Leadership for Health Care, Influencing Without Authority for Health Care and the Lean Certificate Program for Health Care.

“Canisius is a leader in business training programs,” said Frank Swiatek, executive-in-residence for the Center for Professional Development. “We look forward to this collaboration with Xavier which will enable us to expand our offerings to include health care programming,” adds Swiatek, who leads Frank Swiatek & Associates, a leadership, management and consulting firm.
